Wage Top Ups
The Social Security Amendment (Apprenticeship Wage Top-Up For Australian Apprentices) Bill 2007 provides financial support for some apprentices, aged under 30 and training in a trade occupation identified as an area of national skills shortages. Those that qualify will qualify for $500 every six months.
Will these measures help attract and keep young people in apprenticeships? Does it make any difference to your business, will you be putting on additional apprentices as a result, and what do you think of the changes?

All first and second year apprentices, of any age, who are undertaking a trade apprenticeship in an area of skills shortage will be eligible to receive the Apprenticeship Training Voucher. Ask questions and post topics here.
